Yesterday, I appeared on Focus Washington, a webcast talkshow with veteran journalist Chuck Conconi formerly of The Washingtonian. Chuck and I talked about Michelle Obama’s rise as a “fashion icon” and tips that Washingtonians in particular can take from our First Lady when it comes to getting dressed:
The bottom line? Michelle Obama isn’t a revolutionary fashion icon–she just dresses well, utilizing colors and shapes that flatter her body, though that can be revolutionary to the politics and media crowd. And she supports American designers, which is definitely a good thing. Oh yeah–like all Americans, she has the “right to bare arms,” too!
