This morning I traveled to Reem Acra’s Fifth Avenue showroom for a presentation of her stunning Fall couture and ready-to-wear dresses, a collection titled “Atlantis.” As guests mingled and sipped on ice tea garnished with rose petals, models modeled (sorry, there’s no other way to say it) gorgeous silk gowns in shades of purple, gray, champagne, and gold, among others. Best of all, her ready-to-wear pieces, like a gold-leaf jacquard dress and metallic jersey dresses, were hanging on racks for attendees to touch. The models also wore Reem Acra’s new jewelry line, which included huge earrings and statement necklaces fit for a queen. The next time I am asked to walk the red carpet (ha!) I’d love to wear Reem Acra, particularly Look #6, a blue silk strapless gown.
