Last night I attended the Monarchy Fall ’09 collection for men and women, designed by Eric Kim. The looks for men included tailored, Mad Men inspired suits and hats with a smattering of casual sweaters. And the looks for women included high-collar blouses and military blazers, wearable draped jersey dresses, and lots of hoods. I’ve got to get my hands on an asymmetric draped jersey dress, preferably in off-white. Like other collections so far this Fashion Week, Monarchy included skinny pants and booties–stock up on these trends while they’re on sale now because you can definitely wear them next fall.
The only major problem I have with the collection? The blue and green plaid scarves and vests. I swear it’s the same plaid fabric of my grade-school uniform skirt.
